Heart of England Forest, the charity founded by the late multi-millionaire publisher Felix Dennis, is celebrating an important milestone after planting 1.6 million trees.
The charity, which aims to plant a new broad leaf forest across the heart of the country, continues to go from strength to strength and even appeared on BBC Countryfile last month.
Planting began back in 1996 with the organisation eventually hoping to plant ten million trees.
Today 3,400 acres are covered by trees planted by the charity and its volunteer program continues to expand.
