An audience of 200 people turned up at the show and there was a family feel to the night with many younger relatives of WI Lite members taking their turn on the catwalk.

Local retailers selling fashion accessories also had a successful night at the show, creating a vibrant shopping experience for visitors.

Show organiser, Beverley Cato, said: “All the models were amateurs but they looked so professional, we did two or three rehearsals beforehand and served a few glasses of wine and they all looked fantastic, we had so many positive comments.

“The feedback from the retailers has been really good too. This is our fourth fashion show and we’re really keen to make it into an annual event and Gemini have said they would be happy to support it again if we held it next year.”

Beverley added that the group would also like to thank Matthew Curtis, who were the main sponsor of the event and also did the models’ hair.

There was also a raffle with prizes such as a weekend stay at the Double Tree by Hilton in London, a round of golf at The Welcombe Hotel and dinner and bubbles for four at The Encore.
