Duck race raises £3,500 for Shakespeare Hospice
ROTARY’S Shakespeare Duck Race this year raised £3,500 for the Children and Young Person’s Services at the Shakespeare Hospice.
The cheque was handed to the hospice on Monday, 1 October by Andreas Flor, president of the club, to Angie Arnold, CEO of the Hospice.
At the same time the Corporate Duck Race winner Paul Griffiths, store director of Specsavers in Stratford, was presented with the valued trophy, which the store will hold for the next 12 months.
Race organisers The Rotary Evening Group said they were very grateful to sponsors Lodders; Stratford Ale House and Puddle Ducks and to The Boat Club; Sea Cadets and Avon Boating, who helped on the river. They also thanked everyone who bought a duck and contributed to the event.
