Driver dead after head-on crash

Police said a Mercedes C220 Estate travelling towards Claverdon and a Volvo S40 travelling in the opposite direction were involved in a head-on collision.
A third car, a Kia Piccanto then collided with the Volvo.
The driver of the Volvo, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes, a 78 year-old man, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with possible fractures to his shoulder, wrist and ankle on the left side.
The occupants of the Kia were not injured.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or may have seen either vehicle prior to the collision.
They have been urged to call 101 and quote incident number 298 of 19th October.
