Cyclist dies following collision near Alveston
An elderly cyclist has died following a collision with a motorcycle on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 3.45pm on Wellesbourne Road just outside the Baraset Barn pub at the junction of Pimlico Lane.
The incident involved a a blue Suzuki motorbike and a pedal cyclist.
The Midlands Air Ambulance along with officers from Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service all attended the scene.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, was taken to University Hospital in Coventry with serious head injuries.
The rider of the bicycle, a 68-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries and his next of kin have been informed.
Specialist officers are supporting his family.
Officers are keen to speak with anyone who saw the incident, who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 318 of 14 October.
