Although Charles Wells, the brewery which holds the lease on the site, has confirmed that the premises will re-open under the name Cox’s Yard next week, there is yet no news on if the venue will be focused on live music as the original Cox’s Yard was.

The operator of the new Cox’s Yard has been named as Apostrophe Pubs, a division of Charles Wells.

Craig Mayes, Director of Apostrophe Pubs said: “This former timber yard was converted to Cox’s Yard in September 1998 and we’ll be building on its heritage and character of its location.

“Once we have completed the necessary remedial work we’ll be throwing open the doors to welcome guests back and spend time getting to know what they want from the pub before we undertake a bigger refurbishment project in the new year.”
