Cllr Leech, who celebrated his 73rd birthday yesterday (Thursday), had a surprise telephone call in August telling him that his wallet had been found in France – after he lost it in 1960.

To say that he was flabbergasted is an understatement. But he quickly decided that, rather than have the wallet sent to him, he would travel to Grenoble to collect it in person. And that is precisely what he did last week.
