Council on track to deliver record affordable housing




A RECORD number of affordable houses will be built in Stratford-on-Avon district this year and next.

The forecast comes amid changes to national planning policy that aims to close loopholes that are currently allowing developers to wriggle out of affordable homes requirements.

But the council has warned that other changes to government funding policies could increase demand for low-cost properties available to people on the council's housing register, predicting the 2019/20 figure could drop significantly again.
