Car stolen and others broken into
An Audi A3 was stolen and other vehicles broken into at Burmington and Halford overnight on Saturday.
On Sunday afternoon the Shipston Police Safer Neighbourhood Team shared a link to the Facebook page of the South Warwickshire Rural Neighbourhood Watch that gave details of the thefts.
In the post PC Craig Purcell said: “Unfortunately last night bandits were out in the Halford and Burmington area. I've come back in to work to find two vehicles broken into in Halford and one in Burmington. Purses and other personal items were stolen. A blue Audi A3 (registration FX02 YVC) was also stolen from Burmington.”
He continued: “We've had a good run of things lately surrounding theft from motor vehicles with offences in our area (150 square miles comprising 55 villages and Shipston-on-Stour) over half of what they were the same time last year (42 offences down to 15).”
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious that may relate to these offences is urged to call the Safer Neighbourhood Team on 01789 444670. If you see the stolen Audi call 999 quoting incident 102-09/10/16.
The team also emphasised the need to remove your valuables from your car if leaving it unattended.
