BILL Gourlay had an 80th birthday to remember when two penguins waddled into his life.
The visit from the birds, who usually do their waddling at Heythrop Zoo in Chipping Norton, had been arranged by Bill’s daughter Isabelle Gourlay.
She said: “The visit exceeded my expectations I have to say.
“They’re such funny creatures and you could feel the joy in the room as soon as they waddled in.
“Dad and all our family loved it – and that we were all allowed to have a hold was an added bonus.”
Bill, who lives at Scholars Mews care home in Scholars Lane, Stratford, was joined by his family and is pictured with his wife Zoe, daughters Marie-Louise, Isabelle and Felicity along with his son Tobias and grandson Otto, aged two.
