Belt up! Child car seat clinics back in Warwickshire

LAST year, during Road Safety Warwickshire’s annual child car seat clinic, a worrying increase was found in the number of children who were not being appropriately restrained in cars.

Therefore, they are working once again with Warwickshire Police and The Good Egg Guide to organise another series of child car seat clinics throughout Warwickshire, hosted by local supermarkets.

Parents who visit the child car seat clinics will have the opportunity to get their child car seat checked by an experienced child car seat professional and will receive free information and advice. Warwickshire Police will also be on hand to provide educational family activities.

Cllr John Horner, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Community Safety, said: “It is great to see the popular child car seat clinics return. It is an important safety issue and provides parents with the opportunity to ensure that their child is as safe as possible whilst in the car.”

Cllr Philip Johnson, Warwickshire County Council’s Chair of the Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee, said: “Incorrectly fitted or faulty restraints can be a worrying issue, but it’s not easy for parents to check themselves. The expertise offered at these clinics is an invaluable opportunity.”

The clinics will be held at venues in south Warwickshire from 10am to 4pm including Maybird Centre in Stratford on Saturday 19th November
