THE annual meeting of the group that has fighting plans for the South Western Relief Road takes place tonight, Thursday.

Members of Stratford Residents' Action Group will meet at Stratford Girls’ Grammar School in Shottery at 7,30pm.

The meeting is open to anyone and comes as details of the planning application for the road and 3,500 homes at Long Marston Airfield are set to be published.

SRAG chairman, Marion Homer, said: “We know that Stratford-on-Avon District Council are in receipt of the planning application for the so called South Western Relief Road, so our first AGM comes at a crucial moment.

"We would welcome anyone to the meeting so they can understand the full implications of the SWRR in terms of traffic congestion for the whole town, environmental impact on an area that includes The Greenway, and the pollution and associated safety risks for those living close to the planned route.”
