Alcester man remanded in custody for psychiatric report after attempted murder charge

AN Alcester man facing two charges of attempted murder after a fire at a Cradley Heath house in the West Midlands has been further remanded in custody for a psychiatric report.

Daniel Watkins of Smith Close, Alcester is charged with trying to kill them both and he will next appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on 5th September.

A woman and a six-year-old girl had to be rescued from the house before being taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.

That is the date the 24-year-old is expected to plead to the two charges with a trial provisionally fixed by Judge James Burbidge on 30th November.
