A double celebration for the One Elm

Five days before this year’s ceremony the missing award, made of glass and shaped like a swan, mysteriously reappeared at the bar.

Mat Faulkner, general manager of The One Elm, said: “It's a fabulous feeling to have been nominated for this award and to win on the night, and I know I was positively gleaming with pride when I came back to the table clutching the trophy on Friday night.

"It was a real shock to find one of the trophies was missing that day in December. The swan had been on display in the cabinet lovingly handmade for it and the two others we'd won by Declan Williams, one of our regulars. Despite thousands of posts and shares on facebook and Twitter, it was still missing more than a month later. I'd given up hope of ever seeing it again. I'd even heard a rumour that the guys from Touch FM had made us a new one.

“So imagine our joy when it was safely back with us last week, we were so happy to see it. We've got no idea where it had been or who had taken it, but are just hugely grateful to have it back. Thank you to whoever did the right thing.”
