THE Kitchen at Farnborough opened its doors last Friday sporting a complete new look and new name to go with it.

Formerly The Inn at Farnborough, owners, husband and wife team Anthony and Jo Robinson, have run the well-known pub for over 15 years, during which time it’s proved itself to be a popular and successful venue, but the couple admit they always dreamed of offering their guests something more than just the typical, traditional English country inn experience.

After a complete refurbishment, The Kitchen at Farnborough opened, with a fresh new look, a new style of food, a new chef and a new front-of-house team.

As Jo explains: “It’s all about food, fun, family and friends; mixing the best of traditional British warmth and welcome with our own, unique contemporary twist. “It’s still a beautiful, old, mellow stone inn; with gorgeous gardens; in a great location. We’re simply adding an extra dimension; aiming for that long, lazy, luxurious weekend feeling, even in the week!”

The Kitchen is an entirely independent establishment, which Jo is proud to emphasise.

She said: “We only select, prepare and serve the absolute best food and drink we can source; mainly from local food heroes; some from our own kitchen gardens.”

Everything is freshly prepared at The Kitchen, by the new chef and his team, from breads and pasta to ice creams and even chocolates. In addition to their 15-year ownership of this venue, Anthony and Jo Robinson have a wealth of experience in the catering and hospitality industry.

Anthony trained classically at the Savoy and Dorchester Hotels, London, and then spent several years in Michelin-starred restaurants in the south of France, including the world-renowned Hotel du Cap.

From there he travelled extensively through Asia before embarking on his own hospitality businesses.

Jo is a graduate in food marketing and business and has worked closely with the finest British food producers and is passionate about serving the best products.

The couple also run a private catering company, Indulgence Catering, and have had the privilege of working for many members of the Royal Family and at VIP events.
