Sandra Smith, head of wigs and make up, who lives in Stratford, has completed 30 years, while collecting their 40 year service awards last Thursday were Michael Dembowicz, company manager from Chipping Campden, and Mark Graham, production manager from Alcester.

Gregory Doran, RSC artistic director, said: “They make a fantastic contribution to the RSC, and I look forward to working with them for many years to come.”

Stratford College students took centre stage at the annual general meeting last week when they performed a piece devised by Aileen Gonsalves to highlight the impact of the RSC Education’s work across the UK.

The meeting reported how the RSC’s education programmes had reached over 530,000 children and young people.

The RSC’s income reached £63.9m, 75 per cent of which came through ticket sales, commercial activities and fundraising, alongside public investment from Arts Council England of £15.8m.
