Stratford couple celebrate a year in business at antiques centre

By mixing antiques with new British-made items, the couple have created somewhere that people can visit for hours on end, and an iconic 1967 Citroen van certainly creates a striking impression for those pulling into the centre.

These are exciting times for the business which has just opened a new café, drawing in customers from across the region.

Using locally sourced ingredients from producers such as Cotswold Gold, the Warwickshire Chilli Tree and Charlcotte Mill, the café makes everything it sells on site.

Richard said: “We are still an antiques centre but we also have a focus on home interiors. Most people’s houses are an eclectic mix of contemporary and more traditional items and furniture and we cater for all this under one roof.

“Both me and Zoe are very passionate about the business, I gave up a very good job working for a French luxury goods company to do this and so far it’s been tough, it’s been hard but we’re moving in the right direction.

“Zoe has a background in interiors, she’s designed the whole place. We launched the café because it encourages people to come here as a destination, and it’s already proving very popular for us, I think if you’re selling quality locally produced food word of that travels.”

It will be a busy few months for Richard and Zoe as the business prepares to launch Christmas on 16 October with decorations throughout the centre and a brand new autumn/winter menu at the café.
