Showcasing Stratford's top businesses to help economic growth
SOME of the district’s leading and cutting-edge businesses will be brought together at an event next year that will showcase the area’s manufacturing, innovation and creative strengths.
The Driving Innovation & Growth Summit will see up to 50 firms from the automation, AI and electrification, agritech, and the digital and creative industries invited to attend. The summit, a first for the Stratford district, will reveal new developments and hear from high-profile speakers and leading business figures with the aim of showing the area’s strength as a centre of high-tech research and innovation, as well as looking at ways to drive growth.
It is being organised by Stratford District Council with Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) Growth Hub, and the University of Warwick and will take place at the University of Warwick Wellesbourne Campus Conference Centre, 7.30am-1pm on 17th February.
District council leader Cllr Tony Jefferson said: “We have a long and proud history of being the home of highly-innovative businesses and we feel there is much more to build on to boost our economy and enhance Stratford district’s reputation as a driving force in various sectors from manufacturing to digital and technology to creative industries.
“One of the aims of the summit is to discuss the challenges and opportunities for economic growth in the Stratford district because we want to reinforce our area as a landmark centre of high-tech research, innovation, and growth within Warwickshire and beyond.”
He added: “This will be an ideal opportunity for business leaders to inform the emerging economic and growth agenda locally, which is also being driven by government policy. Inward investment has a vital role to play in future growth opportunities in Stratford district and we want to develop a high-growth network and attract new innovative businesses to the region.”
Craig Humphrey, managing director of the CWLEP Growth Hub, said: “We know from the businesses in Stratford district that we deal with through the Growth Hub that there are a great deal of innovative, enterprising companies and this summit is a fantastic chance to bring them together.
“It will also be a chance to highlight the support structure already available for innovative businesses in our area whether that is through the Growth Hub, Stratford District Council and the University of Warwick or the established professional services organisations.”
