Racecourse under starter's orders for new events
THREE new events have been added to the Warwick Racecourse calendar as part of efforts by the new General Manager to forge greater links with the town.
Andre Klein said The Proudly Warwick Raceday on Saturday, 7th May, would be sandwiched in between the Wonderful Warwick Family Raceday on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May, and the Think Pink Warwick Ladies Day on Wednesday, May 18.
Shops in the town are also urged to enter a shop window competition on Thursday, 21st April, with the theme A Day at the Races, for a chance to win £250 and two tickets to the Proudly Warwick Raceday Banquet.

Mr Klein said one of the main aims of the carnival is to foster strong links between the racecourse and the town.
“We’re delighted to be launching this new sporting celebration”, he said.
“I’ve been in my post since November, and I’ve been really encouraged by the momentum we’ve been building in attracting people to the venue.
“There is however still a lot of work to do to raise the profile of the racecourse and what we are trying to do amongst the local community, and this is what the Warwick May Racing Carnival is all about.
“For me, there is not one day or event in our fixture list that endears itself to the people of Warwick, and it is my hope that the creation of the May Racing Carnival will rectify this major omission.
“We are busy setting about our work to try and create something new and special, and we want as many people and businesses to be part of it.
“We are hoping to attract a crowd of 12,000 people across the three days, and there’s a number of ways the events can help promote our neighbouring businesses to a captive audience.
“Anyone keen to be involved is welcome to give me a call, nip down to the track, or one of our team will pop and see you in the town.”
