THE third South Warwickshire Parliament Day took place on Monday, 5th December.

The networking event, organised by Stratford Business Forum, saw around 25 businesses and organisations set up shop in the Members’ Dining Room at the Houses of Parliament.

Among those represented were Aston Martin, Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, Shakespeare’s England, Stratford School, Stratford District Council, Ufton-based Melon Communications, Liz Drake Photography in Warwick, and Wellesbourne-based Take Flight Aviation.

And among the speakers were Lord Digby Jones, who is chairman of governors at Stratford College, MPs Nadhim Zahawi and Chris White, Aston Martin chief executive, Andy Palmer, and Birmingham Airport chief executive Paul Kehoe.

Jonathan Smith, who runs Stratford Business Forum, said: “It was a fantastic event. When I put the word out some months ago that we were doing it again there was no shortage of interest.

“Although the businesses and organisations who do take part contribute to the cost, it still is something of a money-can’t-buy experience for them and their clients to get together in such a prestigious venue.”

Mr Zahawi said: “One of the best parts of my role as Stratford-on-Avon’s MP is having the opportunity to visit and learn about the fantastic variety of businesses within south Warwickshire.

"Whether the business is small or multinational, arts-based or engineering-based, artisanal or more industrial - or if it is an organisation that helps to promote the area’s heritage - it always impresses me just how much south Warwickshire has to offer."
