No complacency over unemployment decline
She said: “Our last Quarterly Economic Survey suggested that businesses would continue to grow and take on new staff and the figures are bearing that out, which is great news for Coventry and Warwickshire.
“In order for the trend to continue it is vital that companies seek out new opportunities to grow their business and one of those is tapping into the international trade support on offer at the Chamber.
“The evidence shows that companies who export are more likely to expand and grow the team.
“Our business start-up team is also enjoying a very busy period, which suggests that more and more people are seeking the opportunity to set up on their own which, again, is positive for the local economy.
“Overall, we should not be complacent about the fall in unemployment because it will only continue to come down if the conditions are right for businesses to grow and have the confidence to take on new people.”
