New look for town hotel bar
“We’ve got a mix of brand new furniture and renewed some of the existing pieces and a new colour palette. As well as new chairs and tables we have new light fittings too so it’s a real fresh and lighter feel when you walk in.
“We still have TVs showing all major sporting events which are positioned for optimum viewing but do not dominate the pub environment. The refurbishment comes in perfect timing for the Rugby World Cup which has been showing, and will continue to air most of the matches, anyone wanting to watch any of the matches here should book a table to avoid disappointment.
“This is the first refurbishment The Bear has seen in seven years but we felt it was the right time to improve the environment for our customers.
“We’ve had a really good summer in the pub and Le Bistrot Pierre thanks to the good weather and our outdoor seating in the garden and on the Bistrot’s terrace.”
A CAMRA pub, The Bear was first established in 1662.
