High hopes for flight school apprentice
A MEMBER of staff at a Wellesbourne flight school is hoping for sky-high success in an upcoming awards ceremony after being nominated for a prestigious apprentice award.
Alex Chance, 20, from Shipston, has made it to the finals of the Coventry and Warwickshire Apprentice Awards which are held at Coventry Cathedral tonight, Thursday, 10th November.
Working at Take Flight Aviation at Wellesbourne Airfield as an operations/customer service apprentice, he will compete in the Administration, Accounting and Finance Category at the awards.
Alex said: “I was really surprised when I found out that I had been nominated, especially when I found out that both the college and Mike and Hana at Take Flight all put me in for the award.
"I’m really excited about it, I’m trying not to think about it too much, I’m just so pleased to have been nominated, and if I won it would be the icing on the cake.”
Hana Smiddy, marketing and sales director at Take Flight Aviation, said: “Alex has made such a difference to the business, he is outstanding.
"His enthusiasm for what he does is fantastic and we all feed off that, and he’s learnt so much in the 15 or so months he has been with us. He’s done so well and we’ll have everything crossed for him on the night.”
