EU REFERENDUM: Polls close

THE polls have now closed in the much talked about EU Referendum.
All day, voters have been putting their X in the 'leave' or 'remain' box at polling stations across the Stratford-on-Avon district.
All 138 ballot boxes will now be taken to Stratford Leisure Centre for verification and counting.
The Stratford result is expected to be declared around 2.30am to 3am, depending on turnout, and the national result is expected later in the morning on Friday.
There are approximately 101,700 people in the district who are 18 years of age and over, 100,689 of which are registered to vote - this equates to 99 per cent.
The result will be posted on the Herald website once it is announced with reaction to follow throughout Friday morning.
