JOHNSONS Coach Travel of Henley-in-Arden has beaten off competition from coach tour operators from across the UK to win two major tourism awards at the National Coach Tourism Awards 2016.

The awards, held recently at Vox Conference Centre at Resorts World Birmingham and organised by trade magazine Coach Monthly, recognises excellence and innovation across coach tour operators, tourist destinations, attractions and industry suppliers.

Johnsons won the awards for Day Excursion Programme of the Year, and the Coach Innovation Award for their Bard on Board campaign.

The judges were impressed with the high level of research that goes in to the Johnsons’ Day Excursion programme and the many ways customers receive added value on the excursions with guided tours, cream teas and often two attractions in one included.

John Johnson, commercial director of Johnsons Coach Travel, collected the award with his team in front of more than 400 tourism industry professionals from television personality Anthea Turner.

He said: “We were thrilled to win these top industry awards. Our Day Excursions programme has been running for over 30 years and goes from strength to strength. This award shows our dedication to create the best possible choice and quality of day excursions for our clients.”
