ROLLRIGHT Cheese, produced by King Stone Dairy, has won the Best Soft Cheese and the Best New Producer award at the inaugural Great British Cheese Awards which were launched earlier this year with the specific aim to recognise, promote and reward excellence in the artisan cheese industry.

Over 7,500 people voted for their favourite cheeses, producers and retailers in the awards. Only those cheese producers and retailers who received the most votes in each category were shortlisted.

A prestigious panel which included Brian Turner the Chef Restaurateur and President of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, tasted and judged the overall category winners.

Rollright is a washed rind cows’ milk cheese made by David Jowett and Antony Curnow at King Stone Dairy in Oxfordshire, which was launched in August 2015.
