THE county’s air ambulance and Bidford Dementia Café have been selected as charity partners for the next 12 months by Specsavers in Stratford-upon-Avon.

The store will support the two charities for the next 12 months, while staff will be handing out tokens to customers, which they can then chose which of the two causes to support, by putting the token into the appropriate charity box. Each of the charities shortlisted for next year will get a share of £1,000.

“We were overwhelmed both with the number of nominations, but also by the strength and justification of the applications,” says Paul Griffiths, store director.

“It was such a tough process to make the selection, and so to make it as fair as possible, we used a scoring system based on a number of criteria for each nomination.”
