Carphone Warehouse to move to new site in Stratford

CARPHONE Warehouse on Maybrook Retail Park in Stratford-upon-Avon is to close at the end of May but will move to new premises in the town later this year.

No staff are affected by this week's announcement which is understood to be linked to the proposal for a new Lidl supermarket on the retail park.

It remains unclear what the future holds for staff at Office Outlet - formerly Staples - which has also announced it will close at the end of May and is situated on the same retail park.

There are already two unoccupied units in close proximity to Carphone Warehouse and Office Outlet one of which was the former Currys electrical store.
