Baking bread again after refurbishment
HENLEY-in-Arden Court Leet have re-opened the refurbished Henley Kitchen and Bakery on the High Street.
In the absence of the Town Crier, Les Long, the Hayward of the Court, Andrew Gardener, took over his role on Saturday, 28th May.
High Bailiff Norman Kench and Low Bailiff Graham Smith cut the ribbon and were introduced to Lisa Hamilton, the new owner, and also the master baker, Kevin Hulme.
Lisa and Kevin had prepared some canapes for tasting by members of the Court, in the absence of the butter weigher.
Members unanimously decided they were all wellprepared, presented and fit for the townspeople of Henley to eat.
Whereupon the Low Bailiff announced that Henley Kitchen and Bakery had passed the rigorous tests of the Henley Court and wished Lisa and her team good luck, after presenting her with a signed certificate of commendation.
Lisa Hamilton has been living in Henley for five years and her background is contract catering.
She feels confident that the new bakery will offer a point of difference to visitors to the town.
They will be offering breakfast along with Lavazza coffee and a bistro-style lunch, as well as early evening meals.
Freshly-baked bread can be purchased at any time of the day.
