James Bedford held the role of sports editor for the Rutland and Stamford Mercury between 2006 and 2011. He rejoined as sports editor for the Mercury, the Rutland Times and the Bourne Local in August 2017. In 2021, he was appointed head of sports for Iliffe Media Publishing Midlands.
