In this week’s Herald …

This week's Herald is out today

Our award-winning photographer Mark Williamson did it once again at this week’s Regional Press Awards in London – we feature the “beautifully crafted” portfolio that impressed the judges.

Of course, we also have more of the stunning images Mark brings us every week, with highlights including a feast of photos from Alcester’s Food Festival and first ever Beer Festival too.

A well-known face appears on our packed arts pages – Les Dennis talks to Gill Sutherland about his RSC debut.

Our editor was also at the annual mayoral hand-over this week, while a local gliding club took a very special visitor on his first flight – to celebrate his 100th birthday.

Plus we have all the news from your parish and sports coverage near you … so get your copy of the Herald, out today.

Herald! News! News!! Council controversy!! Some very interesting articles in this week’s issue!
The rumour that SDC had a bit of a hold over our local paper, may well be unfounded.
It is outrageously predictable, and shameful, that the council won’t give answers to the press about the park and ride debacle. I would like to think that there is someone at SDC who is fairly embarrassed about their failings, because as usual, the council have acted as they please, and the public hear about decisions afterwards. How about using the surplus from parking charges, which was reported in the Herald not so long ago, to prop up the park and ride scheme, until they can fathom a way to run it successfully. Where did the extra £200,000 ish go? Unless it is common knowledge, how about another FOI to the council to discover the whereabouts of this stash of cash?
