WARWICKSHIRE Bears 3rds returned to winning ways when they battled to a 49-46 win against Leicester Cobras 2nds.

With the Bears falling behind until the final minutes, the Bears had to scrap out a hard-fought victory in the British Wheelchair Basketball League.

The first quarter was a close affair with the defensive intensity matched by both teams as the Cobras led 10-6.

The second quarter was again a tight affair with no team able to establish dominance and the Cobras led 24-21.

The second half began with the Bears displaying a renewed determination and Cobras responded to hold a 33-31 lead.

In the final quarter, Bears took control of the game, moving six points in the lead and despite Cobras’ late charge the visitors held on.

The Bears are still looking for additional sponsors to help the club in their endeavors to provide sporting opportunities for local disabled people. They are always looking for new recruits and volunteers for the club.
