Bertie blasts Racers into top spot

RACING Club Warwick took over as the new leaders of Midland League Division One after Trea Bertie’s match-winner at Leicester Road.
With previous pacesetters Atherstone Town without a fixture, the Racers moved into top spot on goal difference, and with a game in hand.
Striker Bertie’s 12th goal of the season came on 48 minutes.
Leicester Road slip to sixth in the table but they head to Townsend Meadow for the return next weekend.
Studley climb into the top five, with Sean Brain against the catalyst in a 5-2 victory at Rocester.
Brain bagged another hat-trick to take his tally to a blistering 15 in seven matches.
Brandon Hague also continued his goalscoring spree and Steve Roche also netted.
Littleton dropped to the foot of the table after losing 2-0 at the team who had been bottom, Nuneaton Griff.
Goals from Brady Middleton and Scott Smith secured Griff’s second win of the season.
