THOMAS Baillie has bolstered his Stratford Town squad by drafting in two new recruits ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Needham Market.
Winger Shawn Richards has joined from AFC Rushden & Diamonds while versatile left-sided player Taylor Morrison has switched from neighbours Alvechurch.
Head of football Baillie had told the Herald he was searching for reinforcements to help cope with an exhausting schedule of matches. With their cup commitments, Town will be playing every Saturday and midweek every week, bar one, until the New Year.
Richards had started his career with Northampton Town’s youth team and has since featured for Rugby Town, Soham Town Rangers, Quorn, Loughborough Dynamo and Stamford. He played 37 games for Rushden.
Morrison is a left-sided player who can slot into midfield or defence. The teenager has played five times to Alvechurch, having joined them in the summer.
“With the fixture schedule we are facing over the coming months it’s important that we add depth to the squad,” said Baillie. “Shawn and Taylor will add the strength and quality that will help us to maintain the rich vein of form we are currently enjoying.”
