Man released under investigation following death at Wellesbourne caravan park


A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in a caravan fire in Wellesbourne last night.

The blaze was reported at Newlands Caravan Park on Loxley Lane shortly after 9pm, with ambulance and fire crews quickly sent to the site.

A 48-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene and police say the cause of the fire is being treated as unexplained at this time.

A 65-year-old man from Wellesbourne was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident and has since been released under investigation.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the incident. One patient was discovered at the scene and sadly it was quickly apparent that nothing could be done to help them and they were declared dead at the scene.”
