Charity Fashion Show a great success in Alcester

A glamorous fashion show at St Nicholas Church in Alcester raised £1,200 for two local good causes earlier this month.

The show, which is now in its 14th year, was organised by Mary Nash with local residents donating the clothes and seven local models taking to the catwalk.

More than 100 women attended the event, purchasing clothes and enjoying a bite to eat.

Mary said: “The supporters of this event turn out for fun, fashion and food. They were not disappointed and yet again we were able to raise a considerable amount to support two local organisations.”

Mike Gittus, who acted as compere on the night, said: “It’s a brilliant event and very popular in Alcester, many of the clothes sold still had their tags on and there were lots of bargains to be had.

“It was a great night and the ladies were very generous in their purchases. The money raised will ensure that 11/11/18 will not go by un-noticed in Alcester.”

Money raised will be donated to the Alcester Centenary Field Project, commemorating the conclusion of the First World War, and the Alcester St Joseph’s Church Hall Fund.
