A TOPPING out ceremony has taken place at a new medical centre in Wellesbourne which will serve more than 20,000 patients.

Hastings House Medical Centre in Dog Close, Wellesbourne, is part of a £2.9m contract and is scheduled to be completed by Wildgoose Construction in December.

The topping out ceremony was held to mark construction on the building reaching its highest point and it gave doctors from the surgery, dignitaries from the Clinical Commissioning Group, Wellesbourne Parish Council and Walton Estate the first chance to look around the site.

The new facility extends to 1,500m2 and will serve patients from Wellesbourne and surrounding villages including Ashorne, Gaydon, Lighthorne, Kineton, Pillerton, Ettington, Hampton Lucy, Alveston and Barford.

All well and good having a surgery to serve 20000 patients , but no good when patients don’t have any transport links to get there. There was a lot to be said for “local” doctors.
