Lifting the lid of town’s newest – and quirkiest – exhibition!

Warwick University intern Anna Campbell-Hall, left, created the exhibition which was opened with the cutting of a ceremonial toilet roll, held at the other end by Escape Arts artistic director Karen Williams, by former Mayors of Stratford Juliet Short and Cyril Bennis pictured along with Simon Kirby, former owner of the Thomas Crapper and Co. STRATFORD’S latest exhibition is lifting the lid on a little-discussed chapter of the town’s history.

Visitors to The Old Slaughterhouse Heritage and Arts Centre can now take a pew in what is probably the town’s smallest exhibition located in the lavatory of Escape Arts off Sheep Street!

The tongue-in-cheek exhibition offers a potted history of Stratford’s latrines and gets to the bottom of Britain’s fascination with tales from the toilet seat.
