FC STRATFORD boosted their hopes of promotion from Midland League Division Three with a hard-earned 2-0 victory over local rivals Shipston Excelsior at London Road on Saturday.

In a match played in Baltic conditions, Dave Poulson’s side claimed all three points thanks to goals from Joe Taylor and James Gifford.

Scott Hammond got the only goal of the game as runaway leaders GNP Sports edged out Alcester Town 1-0 at Birmingham Road.

Central Ajax moved up to fourth in the table with a 2-1 victory over Enville Athletic at Hall Drive.

Goals from Jordan Lewis and Charlie Fitz put Ajax 2-0 up before Enville hit back late on.

In Midland League Division One, Littleton were left to rue a string of missed chances as they were beaten 1-0 at Lichfield City.

Racing Club Warwick and Studley‘s league games fell victim to the freezing weather.
