JOE Smith bagged his first goal for Racing Club Warwick with the winner to defeat Littleton at Hampton Road in Midland League Division One on Saturday.
Defender Smith, who joined Scott Easterlow’s side from Coventrians, hit the only goal on 21 minutes to continue the Racers’ impressive unbeaten league run which dates back to September 30.
Warwick lie sixth in the table, but with games in hand to overhaul the fifth, fourth, third and second-placed teams.
They return to action tomorrow with a trip to Heather St John’s
Littleton are also in action in midweek, when they entertain Studley on Wednesday.
Studley need to show their battling spirit to grab a point in a 2-2 draw at bottom club Coventry Alvis.
The hosts had led 2-0 after Michael Healey struck on eight and 23 miutes but Andy Nicol, with a penalty, and man of the match Chris Cowley dragged the Bees level.
However, Studley will feel they should have taken the three points after hitting the woodwork five times.
In Division Two, Earlswood Town went down 3-1 at Fairfield Villa, with Ellis Blakemore, Scott Smith and Reuban Wilson on target for the hosts.
Central Ajax suffered their first league defeat of the season – in their 14th game – after going down 4-1 away to fellow promotion contenders Bartestree in Division Three. Jack Keeling’s loping header cut the Herefordshire hosts’ led to 2-1 but two goals in the final two minutes settled the contest.
Ajax remain fourth, six points behind second-placed Bartestree, who have played six games more.
