STRATFORD AC’s Phil Brennan bagged a gold medal in the Midland Masters’ Cross Country Championships at Wolverhampton.

The England international and Team GB member endured a torrid drive to the venue in snowy conditions, before encountering what he felt were close to the worst conditions he had ever raced in when tackling the 6k course.

At the start of the race, the snow had given away to rain, which did not help the soggy and close to freezing conditions.

The self-deprecating Brennan felt that he had a poor race, but it was still good enough to earn him gold in his age category.
