FC STRATFORD continue to sweep all before them after producing a Coventry Telegraph Cup upset to defeat higher ranked Chemlsey Town.
Dave Poulson’s side rattled up a seventh win out of seven in all competitions with a 4-0 home win against the Midland League Division One side.
Dylan Parker opened the scoring at the MoodChimp Stadium, when the teen hot-shot headed home an Adam Hemming cross after good work by Dean Poulson.
Strike partner Jamie Gifford doubled the lead after Tom Parnaby and Parker combined and it was 2-0 at half-time after Chelmsley fire a penalty over the goal following a foul by Tom Dyke.
Stratford had the tie all but won when a mistake by the Chelmsley keeper bundled a corner from Ash Wilkes into his own net for 3-0 after the break.
Ben Hill then wrapped up the win, converting a loose ball after Poulson and Dan Stokes made the breakthrough.
Will Beach netted twice as Alcester Town continued their improving form with a 3-1 win at Birmingham Tigers in the Midland League Division Three.
Jimmy Ward was alos on target with his eighth goal of the season. A third win out of four league games pushes Danny Janes’ side into fifth place in the table.
Shipston Excelsior also returned to winning ways with a 3-0 home win against Continental Star.
Skipper Jake Harris, Joe Godson and Ed Caswell were their scorers.
In the Midland League Division One Studley saw their lead at the top was cut to two points after they let slip a winning position against Heather St John’s.
The Bees seemed in control when Lewis Clarke and Josh Westwood scoredf in the first-half.
It remained 2-0 until the 73rd minute but Andre Gonzales gave Heather hope and then Simeon Colbourne levelled ten minutes from time.
Second-placed Walsall Wood closed the gap after sweeping aside hosts Racing Club Warwick 4-0 at Townsend Meadow.
Paul Sullivan scored twice, with Tony Clarke and Jordan Fitzpatrick also on target.
