EIGHT new green and hi-tech buses worth a combined £1.3million are about to hit the roads.
Stagecoach’s new Enviro 400 MMC buses meet even higher environmental standards, reaching Euro6 emissions. They have Wi-Fi while some will also have USB charging sockets.
The buses will be primarily used on the Stagecoach X18 between Evesham, Bidford, Stratford, Wellesbourne, Warwick, Leamington and Coventry, and the Unibus service, which runs from the popular student area of Sydenham in Leamington to Warwick University.
In the last six years Stagecoach said it has invested over £5.65 million in new buses for the Leamington area including 14 luxury Gold buses for route G1, ten double deckers on the Unibus service, and 15 single decks on route X17 between Stratford, Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth and Coventry.
Steve Burd, managing director for Stagecoach Midlands, said “We are delighted to introduce this new fleet of buses onto some of our most popular routes and I’m sure they will be well received, particularly the free Wi-Fi and USB charging points.”
