Thousands run Race for Life

Stoneleigh Park farm manager Alan Hunt, senior event manager for Race for Life Emily Thompson, national events manager for Race for Life Deborah Jennings and venue sales director at NAEC Stoneleigh Ben Baseley with the special pink bales of hay.

Three thousand women took part in the 5k and 10k Race for Life events at Ragley Hall on Thursday 16th June and Stoneleigh Park last weekend.

A further 3,300 women got soaked in mud when they joined Race for Life Pretty Muddy at Stoneleigh on Saturday. Pink silage bales were placed around the farmland site especially for the run.

Emily Thompson, Race for Life Event Manager, said: “The atmosphere at all our Warwickshire events was amazing. It’s always very emotional to see such a huge pink army of women on the march and I’d like to say a huge thank everyone who joined in and supported us.

“We hope to raise more than £250,000 from these events so we really need all the ladies who took part to return their sponsorship money as soon as possible.”

Emily added: “Our researchers have made huge progress in the fight against cancer but much more needs to be done so every penny counts.”
