It would appear that Stratford Council don’t want shops and there were too many in their opinion anyway according to a quote on the BBC today. No idea who all the people are that widely accepted that there were too many in the first place.

The leader of Stratford-on-Avon District Council has warned shops in the town are facing a “perfect storm” as a result of coronavirus and that “a lot of closures are going to be inevitable”.

Councillor Tony Jefferson said: “Even before the crisis hit, there were too many shops – that’s well accepted.”

Forcing people to wear masks from July 24Th won’t help shops either. how can there be to many shops, please explain more clearly? There aren’t any shops who’s main stock is music & video, please explain how there can be to many of those? What about a mens’ clothes shop like part of the down stairs of Debenhams, how can there be to many of those??
