Former Lib Dem joins Tories Woman saves the life of dog with two and a half legs Campaigners angry over plans for 350 more homes in Alcester Charity bookshop manager becomes 468th Mayor of Stratford Residents worried by proposals for 160 new homes

Town maintain lead despite call-off

STRATFORD Town remain 16 points clear at the top of the Baker Joiner Midland Alliance despite Saturday's postponement of their home game against Heath Hayes.

Persistent rain prior to the game meant that the DCS Stadium pitch was waterlogged and the game was called off. Second-placed Stourport Swifts suffered the same fate in their scheduled encounter with Continental Star so the gap between the two clubs remains the same.

Loughborough University strengthened their position in third spot after winning 3-0 at Causeway United. The Students are now just a point behind Stourport.

Gornal Athletic are now in fourth place following a 3-2 home win over Rocester. The Peacocks are in FA Vase action this Saturday when they entertain Wisbech Town in the Fourth Round Proper.
