A MAN has been arrested following reports of young girls being approached near a school in Warwick.
Warwickshire Police received reports on Tuesday 28th and Thursday 30th January that a man had been approaching students in the area around Aylesford School and Sixth Form College in Tapping Way.
On Tuesday 4th February police stopped a vehicle in Shakespeare Avenue, Warwick and arrested a 23-year-old man.
He was taken into custody for questioning and later released on police bail pending further inquiries.
DS Gareth Keyte said: “As a result of reports of young girls being approached by a man in a white car Warwickshire Police increased patrols in the area.
“On Tuesday a 23-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incidents, and our investigations continue.
“No offences have been disclosed, and no one has been harmed, but we would like to reassure members of the public that we take all such reports very seriously.
“We would ask parents to reiterate safety advice to their children, and if anyone sees anything which causes them concern they should contact the police.”
