The haul included two metal rifles and a flint lock rifle, a support spike, a pike and spear, a pikeman’s helmet, two brass saxon axes, a pike and a metal breast plate, normally used to decorate the Castle Inn at Edgehill.

Police have just released details of the burglary which occurred last Thursday night when they believe thieves broke into a container situated to the side and rear of the inn which contained the replicas.
