VISITING has been restricted at Warwick Hospital because of an outbreak of Norovirus.
There is currently no visiting on Dugdale Ward, Squire Ward and Malins Ward.
All other wards at the hospital are also under restricted visiting (2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm).
Exceptions to this are maternity, paediatrics, ITU and on compassionate grounds.
Christine Georgeu, Matron for Infection Prevention and Control: “It is imperative for everyone to practise good hand hygiene all year round; however during the winter months, with the threat of Norovirus, it is even more important.
“Preventing the spread of infection is everyone’s responsibility, staff and visitors alike and therefore we urge visitors to the hospital to do their bit.
“A high number of our patients are susceptible to catching infections and we want to eliminate as much chance of this as possible, this is why at times it is necessary for us to close wards. The Trust appreciates that this can be difficult and we are grateful for your cooperation.”
