AN 85-year old man was airlifted to hospital on Sunday after suffering a stroke in Newbold-on-Stour, Warwickshire.
The man collapsed in his garden shed at home on Sunday morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service were first on the scene, but requested the attendance of Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance (WNAA) to help take the patient to hospital.
WNAA took off from their base at Coventry Airport at approximately 12:00pm and landed on a small country lane near the scene 13 minutes later.
The patient was quickly immobilised before being flown to University Hospital in Coventry for further treatment.
The crew arrived at hospital within an hour of receiving the emergency call-out.
The patient’s current condition is unknown.
